Two AC/GC wrestlers extended their season another day during the first round of the State tournament,

Tegan Slaybaugh, Gunnar Larsen, and Cale Rowley were the three qualifiers for the Chargers this year. Slaybaugh used a take down and three point near fall as time ran out to win 11-8 over Easton Schlabaugh of Highland Riverside. Larsen won 5-2 over Reuben Smith of I-35 to advance to the second consolation round tomorrow. The three-time State qualifier is trying to reach the top eight for the first time and he used a cradle for a three point third period near fall to break a 2-2 tie. Rowley lost his consolation match to Ben Hansen of Missouri Valley by fall in 5:13 in the final 1A match of the day for our area. Rowley finishes his AC/GC career with a 29-10 season.
