Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tiger basketball began district play Wednesday night against the Carlisle Wildcats, winning by the score of 50-39 to advance to the semifinals in 4A substate 3 action. ADM moves to 9-14 while Carlisle ends their season at 2-20.

The Wildcats of Carlisle took advantage early on from a slow ADM start, as they lead 10-9 after one quarter. ADM was able to counter in the second quarter, ramping up the defense and only giving up four points in the quarter to go to the locker room with a 24-17 lead.

Carlisle and ADM both struggled to put up points throughout the majority of the second before picking it up down the stretch. Both teams used the free throw line quite a bit down the stretch, as ADM did a good job of making them to extend their season.

The Tigers were able to get double figure scoring out of juniors Olivia Tollari and Claire Greenslade.

A tough challenge awaits for the Tigers as they take on the number three team in 4A in the  Dallas Center – Grimes Fillies on Saturday night in Grimes. You will be able to listen to that game on the home of Tiger basketball True Country K1079.
