Greene County High School Student Council is celebrating Black History Month in February.

Student Council member Alexa Peters explains two endeavours they are undertaking for Black History Month.

“We are doing posters and a display on the wall by the bathrooms just of people in the past that have created history and we’re sending out a video to all of the advisories to watch.”

Peters describes what she is hoping will happen during advisory time after the videos have been watched.

“We’re hoping to inspire some discussion between them because there’s not many conversations that go really into detail about that type of stuff.”

Advisor Deb Marquardt also encourages teachers to instill part of their lesson plans of different aspects of Black History Month.
