Perry junior wrestler Cole Nelson was hoping for one more match Saturday. Unfortunately, it never panned out. Nelson came up just short in his bid for a third straight state tournament after losing to Ryley Anderson of Bondurant Farrar 5-1 in the opening round of district competition. Top ranked McKinley Robbins followed with a win over Anderson preventing a wrestle back for Nelson. Both Robbins and Anderson advance to the state tournament. 120 pound weight class featured three ranked wrestlers in Nelson’s district. Robbins is currently number one. Perry failed to qualify a wrestler for this week’s state tournament. KDLS and the Raccoon Valley Radio Network will deliver play by play of all our area schools beginning Thursday morning.
