A new event is scheduled for later this year in Greene County.

Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community Events Chair Philip Heisterkamp says the Bike Ride Around Greene County (BRAGC) is their version of the popular Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI). He tells Raccoon Valley Radio this is an opportunity to show-off different parts of Greene County.

“We have some great county restaurants and locations, like Spring Lake (Park) is an excellent location that people probably don’t know a whole lot about if you’re from out of town. Some of these restaurants like they pull people from all over. So we’re going to do a bike ride around the county to highlight some of these stops and just have a good time.”

BRAGC is slated for May 8th. Heisterkamp says there will be a $25 pre-registration fee, which will also include a t-shirt and other items. The full route and registrations will be released at a later date.
