Registrations for the Greene County Youth Athletic Association Little League is now open.
There are three leagues for first through sixth graders to participate. Minor League is for 1st and 2nd graders, American League is 3rd and 4th grades and Major League is for 5th and 6th graders. Organizer Megan Fouch says they are working with Jefferson Parks and Recreation for the T-ball league, which will be held later this summer. The decision was made in light of COVID-19 and the sport drawing larger crowds.
Registration deadline for the first through sixth grade leagues is March 15th. There will be an on-site registration day held at the Greene County Community Center on February 28th from 2-5pm. You can also register online through gcyaa.org. You must create a profile and then sign up for the league you want. The fee is $35 per player for each league, with a $10 discount for any additional players, as well as a $10 early bird discount if you sign up before February 28th.
Practices will begin April 1st, with games to start in May. Go to gcyaa.org to learn more.
