As Phase 1B priority groups continue for those seeking COVID-19 vaccines, Guthrie County now has multiple places where those can be administered.
According to the Guthrie County Department of Public Health, local pharmacies began receiving COVID-19 vaccines at the end of last week. Director Jotham Arber says this increase will help more Phase 1B candidates receive their vaccinations quicker.
“The pharmacies are expected to get 100 doses apiece, so that would be an extra 200 doses a week for the Medicap partners coming on. That would mean we’ll be able to do 400 doses a week here in Guthrie [County], and that’s very exciting because we have a long list of people. All of those pharmacies have been in close coordination with the health department. They have the same list that we’re working off of, and we’re going to start working that down.”
