Despite the global pandemic, there are some economies and industries that continue to grow, and with that there will be a special event in Perry next week. Sponsors Perry Economic Development Inc. (PEDI) and Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Perry want to help people get those jobs. 

 Perry Economic Development Incorporated (PEDI) and the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) campus in Perry are sponsoring a career fair to connect individuals with those growing industries. The career fair will take place Thursday, February 18th from 4-6 p.m. and Saturday, February 20th from 10 a.m. to noon at the Hotel Pattee Ballroom. The event will  provide information on short-term training and opportunities to get high-paying jobs in the Perry area. 

Those who attend the career fair will be eligible to win prizes including pizzas, gas cards and a free night stay at Hotel Pattee. The participating employers include Tyson Fresh Meats 1+2 Program, Progressive Foundry, Percival Scientific, Lutheran Homes and Dallas County Hospital.

Social distancing protocols will be in place including wearing masks at all times.
