The West Central Valley large group speech teams finished up their season at the state competition held in Atlantic on Saturday.

The teams were originally scheduled to perform at Madrid High School, but they changed to Atlantic to make it easier for one of the performers to get to the wrestling sectional tournament.

Improvisation Groups B and C each earned a Division II-rating at the competition. In group B were: Bodhi Mains, Dylan Wells, Kayliin Wachter and Emma R. Johnson. Group C included: Sabrina Becker, Sophia Mahedy, Hailey Joel, Cael Hansen and Abbi Balsmeier.

All-state selections will be announced next week. As a reminder there will be no all-state festival due to the pandemic.
