Tuesday, February 9th

6:07am: An officer assisted a traveling nurse, who had locked her keys in her vehicle at 1000 West Lincoln Way Street.

10:21am: Aaron Skalla reported the Theft of a pair of sunglasses from 500 South Maple Street. He provided the officer with a suspect in the case. The officer is investigating.

11:55am: An officer investigated a Backing Accident in the parking lot of 300 North Elm Street. A 2018 Ford Edge, owned and operated by Lynda Cochran, was backing from a parking spot and made contact with the vehicle beside her. The 2001 Chevrolet Silverado was owned by Zachary Danner of Grand Junction. The Cochran vehicle suffered a reported $2000.00 in damage. Cochran was cited for, “Fail to Have Proof of Financial Liability.”

12:54pm: A Traffic Stop at Lincoln Way and Wilson resulted in Alexis Jordan being cited for, “Operation without Registration.”

4:32pm: Kelsy Reed spoke to an officer about options for assistance with her son, who has been experiencing outbursts at school.

5:21pm: An officer investigated an accident at Elm and Washington Streets. A 2011 Hyundai Elantra, owned by Sarah Obinna and operated by Kayla Sturm both of Churdan, was southbound on North Elm Street. A 2019 Ford Escape, owned and operated by Phyliss Lynch of Jefferson, left the posted Stop Sign in the 300 Block of West Washington Street and pulled out in front of the Sturm vehicle. The vehicles collided in the intersection. The Sturm vehicle had a reported $10,000.00 in damages, while the Lynch vehicle had a reported $8000.00 in damages. Lynch was cited for, “Fail to Yield Upon Entering Highway.”

6:19pm: An officer provided Traffic Control at an accident scene on Hwy. 4, south of 250th Street. A deputy conducted the investigation.

6:20pm: Austin Simmons requested a Welfare Check on a male in the 700 Block of North Cedar Street, after not being able to reach him by phone. The officer made contact with the sleeping subject, who advised he would call Simmons.

********* An officer has requested an Arrest Warrant for Corey Mutum, 26 of Carroll for, “Theft 4th Degree – Serious.” The request was made after the report of a Stolen Coat from 777 Wild Rose Lane on 02/05/2021.
