Jefferson city crews are responding to a broken water main on West State Street Wednesday morning.
Public Works Director Dave Morlan tells Raccoon Valley Radio a water main broke Thursday morning in the 900 block of West State Street. He anticipates shutting off water for three blocks, from Grimmell Road to Walnut Street. Morlan estimates water will be shut off for at least two hours, starting around 10am, while repairs are made.
Morlan points out a boil advisory will then be put in place for 72 hours once water service has been restored. The boil advisory is a precaution as water samples are required to be submitted to the state to check for contaminants. Raccoon Valley Radio will be notified once the boil advisory has been lifted.
