A Minburn woman died and two others were injured from a head on collision last Tuesday night.
According to Iowa State Patrol, 40-year-old Danyel Denise Hardisty, of Minburn was driving a 2001 Toyota Echo and heading north on County Road P-58 at 10:54 p.m. Tuesday when a southbound 2009 Volkswagen Jetta, that was driven by 53-year-old Joseph Stephen Wink of Council Bluffs, crossed the centerline and hit the Toyota head-on. Hardisty died from her injuries, while a seven-year-old child that was in the Toyota and Wink both suffered injuries. The minor was taken to Blank Children’s Hospital with serious injuries by Dallas County EMS and Wink was taken to Methodist Medical Center, with non-life threatening injuries, in Des Moines by Dallas County EMS.
The state patrol reported that impairment is suspected at the time of the crash. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, Dallas County EMS and Perry Fire Department responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
