After losing a thriller in Pella a month ago, the Dallas Center – Grimes Mustangs boys team was looking to exact a little bit of revenge on Friday night against the Dutch, and that they did, riding an offensive clinic to a 80-65 victory.
DCG was able to put up over 20 points in three of the four quarters, and were able to ride a tremendous shooting night with the teams percentage at 57%. They also were tough defensive holding the Dutch to 39% on the night, one of their lowest totals of the season.
Junior Cole Glasgow was outstanding putting up 28 points and 7 rebounds as well, leading scoring for the Mustangs as one of four players in double figures. Senior Alex Thomas put up a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, junior Bo Huston had 14 points, junior Jackson Jones had 12 points, and senior Luke Rankin had 8 points and 11 assists.
The girls were able to pick up a nice 49-33 win, riding a strong second quarter outscoring the Dutch 11-3 and not looking back to maintain pace as the top team in the Little Hawkeye Conference.
Both of these victories were big for the Mustangs on Friday night, and will look to build upon them in the near future.
