Three individuals face additional charges from a January incident in Jefferson.

According to the Jefferson Police Department, a search warrant was executed of a vehicle on January 12th and drug-related items were seized, and tested positive for methamphetamine. Arrest warrants have been requested for 47-year-old Jason Trotter of Perry, 40-year-old Nicholas White of Newton and 30-year-old Sharlee Royce of Grinnell charging each with a Class D Felony for third or subsequent offense for possession of a controlled substance and a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia.

The additional charges stem from a theft investigation by the Jefferson Police Department. An officer responded to a call at 2:39am on January 12th of the suspects allegedly stealing catalytic converters from three vehicles of a business in the 200 block of West Head Street. The business owner told police the suspects headed southwest. Officers found the suspects near a parked car in the 400 block of West McKinley Street along with tools connected to the theft and the missing converters. Suspected drug items were found in the vehicle and recovered with the executed search warrant.

The suspects were previously arrested for Class D Felonies for second-degree theft and possession of stolen property, and serious misdemeanors for fourth-degree criminal mischief and trespassing causing more than $300 in damage. Once the suspects are apprehended on the new charges, they will be booked into the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
