West Marshall (State Center) was a 58-30 winner in the girls’ game and 58-54 winner in the boys contest on Friday night in Jefferson. The Heart of Iowa Activities Conference sweep put the Trojans at 10-5 on the girls’ side and 6-8 in the boys. The Rams fell to 5-8 on the girls’ side and 4-10 on the boys. Both games were heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

The Greene County girls started well and led 12-11 before the Trojans went on a 16-0 run. WM was up 27-14 at the half and 41-18 at the end of the third quarter. The largest lead was 33 points late in the game. Brianna Habben scored 15 of the Rams’ 30 points. Katy Reversion had 27 points for WM.

WM led the boys’ game 19-18 after one quarter and built the lead to 40-22 late in the second quarter. The Rams trailed 40-27 at halftime and cut further into the deficit until they trailed by just one point at 55-54 with 23 second remaining, then the Trojans scored the last three points of the contest. Bryce Stalder had 20 points for the Rams with 14 by Richard Daugherty and 11 from Max Riley. Joey Tollefsen scored 18 for the Trojans.

Greene County hosts Roland-Story (Story City) today in a make up HOIAC twin bill with the girls playing at 12:30 p.m. and the boys to follow.
