The Greene County 4-H program has a couple of reminders for area 4-H’ers to be aware of.
Greene County ISU Extension Director Lori Mannel says all market beef weigh-in information must be verified by Monday through 4-H Online. All other animals do not need to be verified until May for the Greene County Fair.
Additionally, there is going to be a 4-H Sewing Workshop on Saturday, February 6th at the Extension office in Jefferson. Mannel talks about the two items 4-H’ers will make.
“You’re going to be making masks to donate back to the school system, which we’re going to show the kids to give back. But then a fun, new project that you can even turn into the (county) fair as a project is you’re going to make your own tote bag. So they’re asking you to bring an 8×10-inch picture of your choosing and then that picture is going to be on your tote bag.”
The cost to participate is $30 per 4-H’er and there will be two sessions held, at 9am-noon and 1-4pm. Space is limited, due to the number of machines and social distancing protocols. Call the Extension office at 515-386-2138 or stop by to sign up.
