Thursday, January 28th
8:26am: Oly’s Corner advised of a subject leaving without paying for fuel. The business felt it was accidental. The officer made contact with the subject, who returned to pay the fuel bill.
9:18am: Casey’s reported a juvenile attempting to purchase Vaping products with a fake Identification Card. The officer is working to speak to the youth about the incident.
9:43am: Emily Hayes reported suspicious footprints in the snow near the alley at 604 North Chestnut Street.
10:14am: Casey’s General Store reported finding a marijuana cigarette lying on the floor at 508 North Elm Street. The officer took possession of the narcotic and is reviewing video to see if he can determine who dropped the item.
1:37pm: Karen Bowen advised she received a Scam Phone Call advising she had warrants out of Texas. She needed to pay the caller, or be arrested. She recognized it as a scam and ended the call. She incurred no loss.
1:57pm: An officer checked on a subject in the 600 Block of West South Street after a 911 Hang Up Call from the area. No assistance was needed at the residence.
3:23pm: Kathy Cranston advised that on school days, the traffic back up from parents dropping off kids blocks her private business driveway in the 600 Block of South Cedar Street. Officers will be watching for this issue and asking for assistance from parents to stop blocking driveways and intersections in the area.
6:00pm: An officer began a Burglary and Theft Investigation at 1605 Westwood Drive. A large sum of cash had been removed from the residence. There is video evidence of the event that has developed 2 male suspects. The officer is investigating.
All charges are merely an accusation. All defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
