Dallas Center – Grimes wrestling took the mat once again on Thursday when they took on Newton, Ames, and West Des Moines Valley in a four team event.

DCG was able to defeat Ames in the first matchup 52-19, as they were able to have six different wrestlers win via a fall, and got sharp performances out of their key wrestlers. In the middle match against West Des Moines Valley, they were unable to get the victory falling as a team by 47-17. Kieran Shawhan was able to pick up the one fall for the Mustangs in the match, with four different wrestlers able to pick up wins. In the final match, they defeated Newton 58-15 as they were able to get some big performances in their final matchups.

DCG was able to have numerous guys with multiple amounts of wins on the night including Shawhan, Drew Clausen, and Jacob Fistler.

Mustang wrestling will be back on the mat tomorrow when they compete in the Little Hawkeye Conference Tournament.
