DOT camera looking at Highway 4 near Highway 30 in Jefferson

Road conditions are slowly improving in Greene County.

Greene County Engineer Wade Weiss says Secondary Roads Department plow trucks are continuing to clear the paved county roads, whereas the motor graders are working the gravel roads. He anticipates being out until 5pm today and then again for the next two days from 5am-5pm.

Jefferson Public Works Director Dave Morlan tells Raccoon Valley Radio city crews have been out since 12:30am this morning. He says all streets have been cleared once, but crews will make another pass later today. Crews will work about 8-10 hours tonight on the downtown square. Morlan estimates about 8-9 inches of snow fell in Jefferson.

Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams reports that there were no vehicle crashes and no vehicles slid into the ditch during the storm. Stay tuned to Raccoon Valley Radio for road condition updates as well as cancellation and postponement information.
