The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center National Honor Society will hold a drive-through spaghetti dinner fundraiser next month.

Proceeds from the dinner will go to Tori’s Angels Foundation, and the event is being held in honor of Panorama’s Liberty Ashworth, the organization’s 74th supported child, who was diagnosed with Stage IV Adenocarcinoma Colorectal Cancer.

Tori’s Angels CEO Bill Ridgley says Ashworth is one of several Guthrie County kids the Foundation is supporting.

“Right here in Guthrie County, we’re very concerned that it’s a relatively low population community, and we have nine children in the area that we support. It’s amazing to me there’s that much need for children that have life-threatening medical conditions. We almost have more in Guthrie County than we have in Des Moines.”

Ridgley added that the Foundation is ready to take on more children as needed, but the pandemic has reduced awareness of the program, which pays all expenses not covered by insurance for families who have children with life-threatening illnesses, up to the age of 19.

The dinner will be held February 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. at AC/GC High School prior to the varsity basketball games against West Central Valley. Seating will be available in the cafeteria as well as a drive-up window for to-go orders behind the school.
