A new grant program was recently announced by Governor Kim Reynolds that aims to assist restaurants and bars which have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The Iowa Restaurant and Bar Relief Grant Program, which will provide $40 million in assistance, will begin taking applications on February 1st, with the deadline for submissions by February 15th. The one-time grants will offer up to $25,000 to those businesses that experienced a decrease in gross sales in the second and third quarter of 2020.
The funds will go to assist those businesses in immediate cash flow, and the awards will come at varying levels depending on the percentage of lost sales.
More information will be provided by the Iowa Economic Development Authority and posted on IowaBusinessRecovery.com.
