The West Central Valley Basketball teams swept a home doubleheader with Saydel last night.

In the girls game, the Wildcats held off a 4th quarter Eagles rally to win 36-27 to extend the team’s win streak to four. Madelyn Jaeger led the team with 19 points on the evening. Presley Pivonk scored 7, Bella Munoz and Cathy Marlow each had 4 and Beth Speichinger knocked in two. West Central Valley improves to 7-8 overall on the season and stays at 3-6 in the West Central Conference.

The boys picked up their second win of the season 56-35 over the Eagles. Three Wildcats finished with double-digit points: Hunter Keller led the way with 18, Carson Powell added 15 and Grant Caltrider scored 14. Nate Gerling had 8 points and Jackson Doyle chipped in a free-throw in the winning effort. Head coach Dave Brumley credits excellent team defense for the victory.

The teams will host Southeast Warren for a rescheduled contest Monday night to end this homestretch.
