The string of alleged burglaries in Jefferson have resulted in several charges filed by the Jefferson Police Department.
Officer Jeremy Behrens tells Raccoon Valley Radio the first incident was reported on December 20th at a home in the 900 block of West Harrison Street. The owner said several items were taken from the home, including a television, golf clubs and cartons of cigarettes. Behrens says that investigation resulted in two Class D Felony charges against 31-year-old Samuel Maldonado of Fort Dodge and 40-year-old Ryan Patterson of Jefferson.
Then on December 22nd at 9:49am, Officer Behrens was called back to the same residence in the 900 block of West Harrison Street for another alleged burglary incident. Behrens reports the residence was found in disarray and some items were broken, along with household goods and a wagon were missing. The investigation resulted in two Class D Felony charges against 38-year-old Julie Eslinger of Jefferson and 39-year-old Jason Montgomery of Grand Junction.
Later that day at 6:03pm, Officer Behrens responded to a call for an alleged burglary of a vehicle in the 300 block of North Pinet Street. The vowner reported various military items were missing. Behrens says those items were actually found at the residence in the 900 block of West Harrison Street from his investigation from earlier in the day. An aggravated misdemeanor charge was filed against Montgomery for burglary of a vehicle.
All warrants have been issued. Patterson is currently in the Greene County Jail, due to a separate Class C Felony charge for second degree burglary of a home in the 300 block of East Lincoln Way from December 7th. Once the other suspects have been apprehended, they will be booked into the Greene County Jail.
