The Guthrie Center School Board approved a new sound system for the Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School Auditorium Monday.
The bid was from IowaSound LC for just over $28,000. The equipment includes several components, such as a digital mixing console and wireless microphones for the students to use. AC/GC Superintendent Dennis McClain says he hopes the project will be finished before the students’ next drama production in late April.
The Board reviewed the Return to Learn plan and discussed the district’s successful mitigation plans. They also opened initial planning for Phase 1B of the coronavirus vaccinations and the procedures to be used for vaccinating staff and faculty.
McClain provided his administrative report to the Board which included potential uses for the $226,000 in Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Funds allocated to the district.
Finally, the Board decided not to extend provisions concerning additional leave for the Families First Coronavirus Response Act which expired December 31.
