Dallas Center – Grimes wrestling was on the mat last night when they took on the Dutch of Pella on the road, and were able to string together some solid performances and pick up a nice victory 45-27.

The Mustangs were able to record five wins on the night via a fall and all pick up some decisions as well. Ranked number 8 in class 3A at 126 Jacob Fistler was able to pick up another victory in the teams win. At 106 Will Weydert was able to record a fall, at 120 Carson Springer was able to win a 5-2 decision, at 145 Ben Brushaber was able to pick up a fall at 5:22, 152 Caden Finn picked up a 7-4 decision. At 182 pounds, Cuin Cullen won 6-4, Drew Clausen picked up a fall win at 195, and at 220 Ty Nash was able to pick up the victory.

It was the type of performance that the Mustangs can continue to build on, as they’ve hit a great stride these last couple of weeks.

Mustang wrestling will be returning to the mat tomorrow when they compete in Urbandale for a tournament.
