Friday, January 15th
1:51am: An officer located and removed debris from the roadway in the 400 Block of North Cedar Street.
7:28am: A Public Works Department Worker caught a stray dog at Chestnut and Lincoln Way Streets. The officer placed the dog in the Animal Holding Facility.
11:36am: Nellie Petterson reported her juvenile daughter had walked away from her grandparent’s residence after a family argument. The officer located the juvenile and spoke with her. The officer took her back to the grandparent’s residence.
12:31pm: A caller advised that a DOT Plow had knocked a sign down in the 600 Block of South Elm Street. The DOT was notified since it is a state road.
1:39pm: Brittany Wilsey reported she had caught a Stray Dog at 707 Pinet Place. The officer placed the dog in the Animal Holding Facility.
3:06pm: A Traffic Stop at Wilson and Monroe resulted in Benito Ortiz of Grand Junction being cited for, “Driving While Suspended.”
3:57pm: An officer was advised of an event that had occurred at 104 North Locust Street. A customer had been shopping at the business and had placed some items on the floor to look at other items. A young child was present with his parents in the business and kicked the items. The male attempted to speak to the young child about his actions, which angered his parents. An argument had occurred, and all parties left the business. The officer spoke to all parties involved. There had been claims from the young boy’s parents that the male placed his hands on the child. The Officer spoke to the cashier at the business and viewed video of the event. The officer located no evidence to support that the child had been touched by the male customer.
4:33pm: Bruce Binkley reported a Burglary to his shop in the 700 Block of North Wilson Ave. Subject(s) had gained entry to a locked door and removed tools from the building. The officer has suspects in the Burglary and is investigating.
4:48pm: An off-duty Guthrie County Deputy advised an officer of a Barred Driver operating a vehicle in Jefferson. The officer is investigating.
Saturday, January 16th
9:50am: An officer was given information that a Jefferson couple with an active No Contact Order in effect were staying together at the Super 8 Motel. The officer went to the room and the female answered the door and advised the male was hiding in the bathroom. The officer arrested Ryan Douglas Patterson, 40 of Jefferson and charged him with, “Violation of a No Contact Order – Simple.” The officer reviewed video from the Hotel and learned that Patterson had been staying at the room with the female for some time. The video shows the female coming and going on numerous occasions, which contradicts her version of events she gave the officer. Charges are pending at this time for the female. Patterson also has numerous other Arrest Warrants and Violation of Probation Warrants at this time to face.
9:57am: A US Postal Carrier reported a female hanging out of a window screaming at 107 North Olive Street. The officer arrived and made contact with the female, who advised she had locked herself in the laundry room and had to crawl out a window to free herself. No assistance was needed.
11:53am: Vanessa Stevens reported someone had entered an unrented apartment at her family’s apartment building at 307 North Olive Street. She was unsure if items were missing or not, but wanted the event documented.
3:42pm: A caller advised of a snow removal company had pushed a large amount of snow into the roadway and left it in the 1100 Block of McDuffie Drive. The officer spoke to the homeowner, who called the removal company to come back and remove the snow from the roadway.
5:07pm: An officer responded to an ATM Alarm at 200 West State Street. The ATM appeared to be fine and a key holder was advised of the officer’s findings.
8:33pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 100 Block of North Olive Street.
Sunday, January 17th
3:46am: An officer located the gates open and an Unsecured Door at the Bus Barn, located at 1577 235th Street. A key holder was contacted.
7:45am: ER advised a committal patient was walking away from 1000 West Lincoln Way Street. The officer located the subject and returned them to ER.
9:18am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the parking lot in the 700 Block of Wild Rose Lane.
10:35am: Dollar General reported Criminal Mischief at 104 North Locust Street. The exterior wall on the (West) alley side of the building had been spray painted. The officer is checking with surrounding businesses to see if any video may be available of the event.
1:56pm: Tony Ratliff requested a Welfare Check on his daughter at 206 South Oak Street. The officer made contact with the daughter, who appeared to be fine. The officer is contacting DHS to assist the family unit.
5:58pm: An officer followed up on a 911 Hang Up Call from the 500 Block of South Elm Street. The subject was fine, and it was an accidental dial.
8:26pm: Kathleen Daniels reported her two juvenile daughters were in Jefferson over the weekend staying with a friend. Her daughters had advised her that two males in Jefferson had threatened her daughters with a knife, while driving around with them. The officer is investigating.
11:01pm: The Wild Rose casino requested an officer at 777 Wild Rose Lane after discovering a subject in the Casino who had barred himself from gambling in Iowa. The officer issued Ellas Enrique Alas Amaya a citation for, “Trespassing – Simple.” He was required to leave the Casino.
11:43pm: Officers were called to 406 West Head Street for a Child Custody Issue occurring there. An adult son and his mother had been involved in an argument over a child leaving with the father. Both parties advised the other had become physical with the other. The officers could not find any evidence to support either side and separated them for the evening.

5:08am: An officer investigated a Car vs. Deer Accident on 220 th Street, near Oakland Ave. A 2017 Chevrolet Traverse, owned by Dunkers by Matt and being operated by Nicholas Nelson of Jefferson struck a deer while traveling on 220 th Street. The vehicle suffered a reported $4000.00 in damages.
12:53pm: An officer investigated an accident I at the gas pumps at 508 North Elm Street. A 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, owned by Kevin Kafer of Jefferson was parked at the pump. A 2006 Ford F150, owned and operated by Joseph Turner of Jefferson attempted to pull up to the pump across from the Kafer vehicle and struck it. Both vehicles suffered very minor damages, estimated at $200.00 each.

********* An o0fficer finished an Assault Investigation that began on 01/12/2021 at 102 South Grimmell Road. The officer has requested Arrest Warrants for Ryan Douglas Patterson, 40 of Jefferson for, Domestic Abuse Assault 2nd Offense – Aggravated and Violation of a No Contact Order – Simple.”
******** An officer has requested several Arrest Warrants after completing two Burglary Investigations at 900 West Harrison Street on 12/17 and 12/20, 2020. Warrants are requested for, Ryan Douglas Patterson / 40 of Jefferson, Jason Lee Montgomery / 39 of Grand Junction, Julie R. Eslinger / 38 of Jefferson, and Samuel Maldonado / 31 of Ft. Dodge for, “Burglary 3 rd Degree – D Felony.”
********* Arrest Warrants have been requested after the completion of a Vehicle Burglary reported on 12/21/2020 at 303 North Pinet Street. The officer has requested the warrant for Jason Lee Montgomery, 39 of Grand Junction for, Burglary 3 rd Degree – Aggravated.”
