For Dallas County food pantries and food banks, the deadline to apply for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources food storage grant ends soon. 

The Iowa DNR will accept applications for its Food Storage Capacity Grant until January 21st. The grant aims to address food waste which can impact environmental, economic, and social sustainability in Iowa. 

The competitive grant helps efforts to increase storage and cold storage of donated food. Food banks, food pantries and other non-profit organizations receiving donated food for distribution to food-insecure Iowans are eligible to apply.
