The victim from an alleged traffic incident in Grand Junction has died.
Iowa State Patrol Resource Officer Shelby McCreedy tells Raccoon Valley Radio the victim, 46-year-old Travis Fincel of Grand Junction, passed away from injuries sustained from the December 15th incident. She says Fincel was walking north on 16th Street, in the roadway around 8:10pm, when a 2005 Dodge Ram truck that was driven by 72-year-old Robert Kinnick of Grand Junction struck Fincel causing life-threatening injuries.
Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams said Kinnick was found at the Casey’s gas station in Grand Junction. Kinnick told authorities he didn’t see Fincel in the roadway as he hit him. Fincel was taken to Greene County Medical Center and was later transported to Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines by air ambulance. McCreedy says no charges have been filed as the case remains under investigation at this time.
