U.S. Congresswoman Cindy Axne

Recent events in the U.S. Capitol have brought support for the removal of President Donald Trump and Congresswoman Cindy Axne voted in favor of such action.

Axne says a resolution was brought to the U.S. House floor for a vote on enforcing the 25th Amendment, which was to have Vice-President Mike Pence remove Trump, and the House also brought a resolution for impeachment. Axne explains that the reason for the action was due to recent violence at the nation’s Capitol on January 6th.

“We had Capitol officers killed by Americans, by Americans. They dragged them down the stairs and beat them.”

Axne says while no one wants to be in the position of impeaching the President, those who had a hand in inciting violence should be held accountable.

“If we do not hold the inciters for this accountable, and that includes the President who unfortunately pushed this narrative year after year to a point where he engaged with folks to literally come to the Capitol and fight, and those were his words. I believe he is a danger to this country and so do we.”

Axne says while President Trump will only be in office for a short amount of time, he is still the most powerful leader in the world and that she feels he is unfit to lead the country.
