Ahead of the 89th Iowa General Assembly, lawmakers are laying out important topics they want to bring to the session. 

One topic in particular that Iowa House Representative for District 19 Carter Nordman says will be important is broadband access. Nordman points out that the House just added a broadband committee to handle some of these issues. 

“As we have seen with this pandemic, broadband is so important, especially in rural areas. Ensuring that people can work from home is essential so that is going to be another top priority for House Republicans and I’m excited to see what is laid forward and what we can do to expand resources for that.”

The 89th Iowa General Assembly is set to begin January 11th.
