COVID-19 forced the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to close all offices to the public and postpone many programs and events for 2020.

DNR Conservation Officer for Guthrie and Greene Counties Jeremy King says he hopes to get people caught up in 2021.

“Hopefully we can get back to doing hunter education programs again. That’s been a little bit of an issue with the COVID stuff. My hope is this spring we can get a class or two in to get caught up from being delayed last year. Other than that, I’m looking forward to the winter months here and the beautiful snow and people enjoying the outdoors, whether it’s snow-shoeing, deer hunting, coyote hunting, goose hunting and then for spring to roll around and start thinking about turkeys.”

Watch for updates from the DNR on when hunter safety education classes will resume.
