The 89th Iowa General Assembly goes into session January 11, and House District 20 Representative Ray Sorensen says he’s looking forward to getting Iowa back on track.

“Getting back to work, back to a normal, even if it’s not completely normal if we have to put in social distancing. Trying to get back to work to slowly and thoughtfully get back to normal. We were in a good place before COVID hit. We were really working toward finding childcare and finding workers. Even post-COVID, our unemployment rate is really low. Iowa is in a good spot. We need to be mindful of what we’re doing, each step we take and making sure we’re not getting the cart ahead of the horse.”

Sorensen will serve as the chair of the Economic Growth Committee after chairing the Economic Development budget subcommittee in 2020. He will also be on the education committee, as well as a brand new Information Technology Committee.
