Wednesday morning on Highway 30 between Grand Junction and Jefferson
Greene County’s roads were impacted following Tuesday’s winter storm.
Greene County Engineer Wade Weiss said the Secondary Roads Department was out from noon-5pm Tuesday and again on Wednesday treating and plowing all of the county paved and gravel roads. Jefferson Public Works Director Dave Morlan reported City crews were out from noon-8pm Tuesday, along with clearing the downtown square early Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 2-6am.
Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams said there were no vehicle crashes and no vehicles went into the ditch during the snow event. Jefferson Police Chief Mark Clouse reported one snow ordinance violation citation was issued Tuesday. Jefferson resident and National Weather Service Observer Tim Pound said Jefferson had four-inches of snowfall.
