Portions of Greene County roads are continuing to improve, following Tuesday’s winter storm.

Greene County Engineer Wade Weiss tells Raccoon Valley Radio the Secondary Roads Department was out plowing the paved county roads Tuesday and today they are out in full force removing snow on paved as well as gravel roads. Jefferson Public Works Director Dave Morlan says all residential streets have been plowed from curb to curb and parking will be prohibited from 2-6am Thursday morning on the downtown square, so crews can finish removing snow.

Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams says there were no vehicle crashes and no vehicles went into the ditch during the snow event. Jefferson Police Chief Mark Clouse reports one snow ordinance violation citation was issued Tuesday. Weiss estimates an average of four inches of snow fell in the county Tuesday.
