Dallas Center – Grimes Fillies basketball has been very lucky for a lot of years in have some great talent some through their program, and this year is no different, as their have been some key underclassmen that have really stepped up so far in route to their 7-2 record.

Sophomore Emma Miner has been great so far this year, as she leads the team in points per game at 11.1 along with a solid rebounding mark as well at 3.7 per game. Miner has also played some great post defense and has been a key player so far this year.

Freshmen Vanessa Bickford was able to put together a solid performance, as she is averaging 7.3 points per game, 4.1 rebounds per game, and 2.8 assists a game while also helping out with ball handling duties as well. She has been a solid presence for this team, and played more like an upperclassmen than a freshmen.

DCG has been able to get out to a good start this season, and one of the main reasons has been the great play of underclassmen like Emma Miner and Vanessa Bickford.
