The Guthrie Center City Council approved a 3.5 percent pay increase for city employees during their final regular meeting of 2020 Monday night.

The Council also approved the renewal of Jubilee Foods’ liquor license.

La Villa Mexican Restaurant owner Gabriel Hernandez discussed a dumpster in the alleyway behind his business that was moved. Hernandez claimed nobody has hit the dumpster in six years, but mayor Mike Herbert said it’s a liability to the city if anyone should hit the dumpster in the alleyway. No action was taken on the matter.
