The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
The meeting began with county officials that were elected from the November election being sworn-in, including Supervisors John Muir, Pete Bardole and Mick Burkett, County Sheriff Jack Williams and County Auditor Jane Heun.
During open forum, County Tax Coordinator Pam Olerich presented the 2020 land valuations the County uses to set up the 2022 fiscal year budget. She pointed out that overall, the county saw 2.12-percent growth in land valuations.
The Board then heard several 2022 fiscal year funding requests, including the Bell Tower Festival of $3,000, Greene County Early Learning Center of $5,000, Greene County Historical Society of $6,000, Greene County Public Health of $300,000, Greene County Fair Board of $24,000, Central Iowa Tourism of $400, and New Opportunities with $5,304 for the Greene County Family Development Center, $6,979 for the substance abuse treatment program, and $7,608 for the substance abuse prevention program. The Board took no action following each request. Additionally, the Board approved the 2021 master matrix resolution and approved a $500 one-time increase in salary for Jessica Larson, who is the office clerk for the County Treasurer’s Office.
