Guthrie County Public Health Nurse Kristi Carper receives her coronavirus vaccination from Guthrie County Hospital Nurse Loreen Benton.
The Guthrie County Public Health Department will hold multiple vaccination clinics this week, beginning today.
The department has sent registration forms to several employers and healthcare workers throughout the county. But, Public Health Director Jotham Arber says qualified candidates can reach out and schedule appointments as well.
“If there are individuals that fall into the healthcare worker category and they haven’t been covered by their employer if they work outside of the county, but live in the county. As long as they’re a healthcare worker in that 1A classification, they can call up here or shoot me an email at healthservices@guthriecounty.org and we can get them that registration.”
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the 1A classification includes workers at hospitals, long-term care and outpatient facilities, home health care, pharmacies, emergency medical services and public health employees.
The clinics are scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. today, Tuesday and Wednesday, but may extend the hours depending on the number of appointments.
