The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide.

According to a press release, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at 1:29 a.m. Tuesday of a male with a gunshot wound at the intersection of K Avenue and 258th Street, in rural Adel. The victim was later identified as 20-year-old Jakob Mash of Perry, who was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Dallas County Deputies and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are continuing the investigation. The Adel and Perry Police departments, Dallas County EMS, Dallas County Death Investigators, and the Adel Fire Department assisted at the scene.
