The Panorama High School band and choir held its winter concert via Facebook Live Monday.

Band Director Jim Bauch  says it was a new challenge for him.

“It was certainly different. I was addressing a camera instead of an audience. With the COVID, I’d have kids be there one day for practice and gone for the next 10 days due to quarantine. I never, since Thanksgiving, had the entire band there for a full rehearsal, so that was difficult as well. I think the kids missed playing in front of their parents and family, and it was a little different that way.”

Bauch hopes the pandemic will increase appreciation for the arts.

“Boy I’d sure like to think so. With the livestream, that’s a way to let family members that are home and don’t want to go out know and/or across the United States have that way to listen.”
