It’s the break for the holidays for Iowa high school sports and through the first five weeks of the girls’ basketball season, Paton-Churdan’s Danielle Hoyle is among the state’s statistical leaders in multiple categories.

The 6′ 3″ senior post averages 23.6 points per game, which leads Class 1A. Her 73% field goal percentage is top five in the class and her 29 blocked shots is second among all players, regardless of class. She also ranks high in rebounds per game at 10.6. Statistics are from the website Varsity Bound.

Hoyle is a main cog in Paton-Churdan’s 7-1 start to the season for Coach Tom Kennedy’s Rockets.
