The Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation has mini-grants available to help support agriculture in the classroom and after-school programs.
The Agriculture in the Classroom Teacher Supplement Grants are made possible through support from the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation and are used to help Iowa teachers do projects or help existing projects that surround ag literacy.
Preschool through 12th-grade teachers, librarians, and afterschool program coordinators at Iowa schools can apply for the $250 grants that can be used to fund lessons, activities, classroom resources, guest speakers, outreach programs, and field trips. There will be up to 175 grants awarded. Grants have to be associated with social studies, science, math, language arts, or 21st-century skills and integrate ag into that learning.
The deadline to apply is January 10, 2021, and the project must take place between January 15 and June 5, 2021. For how to apply online or get more information you can go here.
