The Greene County Recorder’s Office is reminding those with snowmobiles and off-highway vehicles to renew their vehicle’s registration.
County Recorder Deb McDonald says registrations that were purchased for snowmobiles and OHVs will expire at the end of 2020. Any registration with a 2020 sticker displayed will no longer be valid for these vehicles to be on snowmobile trails, public ice or OHV parks. Registrations that are not renewed prior to January 1st, will have a $5 late penalty assessed to the cost of the registration.
Additionally, permits for resident and nonresident snowmobiles and OHVs will also expire December 31st. However, there is no late penalty if a permit is purchased after January 1st, as those are issued for a calendar year. Permits are required for nonresident and resident snowmobiles that are used on public land or ice. Resident OHVs do not need a user permit, but nonresident OHVs that are registered in their state must have a user permit displayed on their vehicle.
