The homicide victim in the ongoing investigation with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office has been identified.  

According to a press release, the victim is 20-year-old Jakob Mash of Perry. At approximately 1:29 a.m. Tuesday morning, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call that Mash was found with a gunshot wound at the intersection of K Avenue and 258th Street in rural Adel. Mash was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Dallas County Deputies and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are continuing the investigation. 

The Adel and Perry Police departments, Dallas County EMS, Dallas County Death Investigators, and the Adel Fire Department assisted at the scene.
