The break for the holidays started one day early for the basketball teams from Greene County High School. The Rams were to have played a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girl/boy doubleheader on Tuesday night in Nevada, but that action was postponed to Tuesday, Jan. 12 in Nevada.

As a result, the Rams are now on the break for the holidays, and will practice, but are not scheduled to play games until Tuesday, Jan. 5 in Jefferson vs. Webster City. Coach Todd Gordon’s girls are 2-3 while Coach Chris Nelson’s boys are 0-5.

Greene County wrestlers were already on break after having gone 4-0 last Saturday at the Kuemper Catholic portion of the Tiger-Knight Dual Meet Tournament in Carroll. Coach Zach Beekman’s Rams have a 5-4 dual meet record and are next scheduled to compete on Jan. 5 in Greenfield vs. Nodaway Valley, Martensdale-St. Mary’s, and Woodward-Granger.
