The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a homicide. 

According to a press release, at approximately 1:29 a.m. Tuesday morning, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a victim with a gunshot wound at the intersection of K Avenue and 258th Street in rural Adel. 

An adult male was pronounced dead at the scene. Dallas County Deputies and the IowaDivision of Criminal Investigation are following up with the investigation. The incident is being treated as a homicide and there is no danger to the public at this time. 

The Adel and Perry Police departments, Dallas County EMS, Dallas County Death Investigators, and the Adel Fire Department assisted at the scene.
