Dallas Center – Grimes Mustangs basketball teams were able to get competitive games on Friday night, with the boys able to get the win and the girls falling just short to Indianola.
The boys were able to stay undefeated and move to 6-0 with a 52-42 win over Indianola. It was a close battle as it was only a four point game after halftime, as both teams went back and forth, but the Mustangs were able to rely on their star players down the stretch to avoid the upset.
In a battle of top teams in the Little Hawkeye Conference, the Fillies weren’t able to get the win falling by the score of 50-45. The difference was the third quarter, as the Fillies were outscored 15-4 after having a halftime lead, and couldn’t get enough makes down the stretch to get the key road victory.
The girls will have one more game before the Christmas break with a game to be slated for next Tuesday at Creston, while the boys will now have time away from their gym with no games until 2021.
