Both the girls and boys basketball teams at Greene County High School are hoping to be at full strength for their next games. The Rams are off tomorrow, then host their first Basketball Classic in the new high school gym in Jefferson.

Coach Todd Gordon’s girls meet Pocahontas Area at 3 p.m. and Coach Chris Nelson’s boys play Grinnell at 5 p.m. Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) and South Hardin (Eldora) open play at 11 a.m. with the Kuemper Catholic and Ballard (Huxley) boys playing at 1 p.m.

The Rams were without leading girls’ scorer and rebounder Brianna Habben on Tuesday night when they lost to West Marshall in State Center, 53-25.The Greene County boys were missing Jesse Miller. The 6′ 5″ sophomore represents the only size on the team and he has yet to play a game. Both told Raccoon Valley Radio on Wednesday they were optimistic about being in Saturday’s lineup.

The Greene County girls have a 2-2 record while the boys are 0-4.
