
The Paton-Churdan girls won 62-38 and the boys lost 75-56 in Rolling Valley Activities Conference basketball in Churdan vs. West Harrison (Mondamin) on Tuesday night.
Coach Tom Kennedy’s girls’ team led 30-20 at halftime, then broke the game open in the second half. Danielle Hoyle had 24 points with 14 by Emma Stream, 10 from Carmyn Paup, and nine for Tessa Steimel. They improved to 5-1 on the season.
P-C boys’ coach Bud Fagen said his team had no answer defensively and things got away from the Rockets in the second quarter. The Rockets trailed 17-14 after one quarter, then were down 48-27 at halftime. Joe Carey had 13 points and six assists. Bradyn Smith added 11 points and eight rebound, with Connor Brus scoring 10 points. The P-C boys are now 2-4 overall.
