An online event is taking place Tuesday about a historic roadway that goes through Greene County.

The Prairie Rivers of Iowa Lincoln Highway Heritage Byway is hosting a 50-minute online presentation of the construction and historical look of how the Lincoln Highway was created in 1913. Coordinator Janice Gammon says the highway stretches across the U.S. and runs through Iowa from Council Bluffs to Clinton, including Scranton, Jefferson and Grand Junction in Greene County.

The presentation will be held Tuesday from 6:30-7:30pm. During the event, autobiographical stories, early photos of the highway, historical traveler books and other materials will be shared, with most of the items from the Lincoln Highway Association.

Tickets are $10 and can be reserved by going online https://www.prrcd.org/. Contact Gammon for more information at jgammon@prrcd.org or call 515-232-0048.
